Ex-BBC Journalist Declared Wanted In Nigeria

Nigeria’s anti-corruption body, EFCC is searching for Jamilah Tangaza, a former government official and former BBC journalist.

Ibrahim Magu, the chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), told the BBC Hausa service that the agency had declared her wanted following media reports that she had tried to jump bail.

Ms Tangaza was arrested by the EFCC in July over allegations of financial crimes while she headed a government agency in Abuja in charge of allocating land in the capital.

She was released on bail in August while investigations continued. She has not been charged and she has denied any allegations of corruption.

Following the report on Tuesday by Sahara Reporters about Ms Tangaza’s alleged escape attempt, Mr Magu said anti-corruption agents had tried to contact her, but all her phones were switched off.

The person who guaranteed her bail is helping the EFCC in its search for Ms Tangaza, he said.

All border officials had been warned to look out for her, as has Interpol, so any attempt to flee the country would prove futile, he said.

NUPENG Gives FG 21 Days To Halt Sack Of Workers

The Nigerian Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas, NUPENG, has given the Federal Government 21 days to halt the mass sack of its members by oil majors or face mass action from the union.

A communique just issued by the Central Working Committee still meeting in Warri, Delta state, noted that over 3000 workers have been sacked by oil majors and servicing companies who are closing shops on account of the current recession.

Igwe Achese, President of NUPENG who read the communique said, “NUPENG will take all necessary action to drive home its demands if FG failed to act in 21 days. We are 100% in support against anti-corruption, but there must be respite for Nigerians. “Right now, our members and even those in other sectors are no longer able to pay school fees for their children and even afford rents. Worse still, those being sacked now are so treated without commitment to proper terminal benefits.”

See How Female Banker Hires Assassins To Kill Ex-Husband In Lagos

This life, it's only God that is saving His people. Police have arrested two suspected hired-assassins and a female banker over failed attempt to assassinate her ex-husband, Mr. Tochukwu Onyebuchi.

Ogun State Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Iliyasu paraded the suspects at the today at headquarters of the state command in Abeokuta.

He said the banker, Oluchi Tochukwu, hired the assassins to assassinate her husband in his residence at Ayobo area of Lagos.

Iliyasu named the two suspected assassins as Chigozie Smart (32) and Kingsley Ikechukwu (36).

He said they were intercepted and arrested on October 19 at Ijebu-Ode while attempting to escape to Onitsha with the victim’s Range Rover Jeep.

Oluchi was also arrested at Ayobo area of Lagos.

He said, “Oluchi, a 32-year-old banker, who is married to one Tochukwu Onyebuchi years ago, got separated from her husband following some matrimonial problems.

The custody of their only child is currently being contested in the court but Oluchi has another plan. She connived with the trio of Chigozie Smart, Kingsley Ikechukwy and one other who is now at large to eliminate her husband.

“She arranged weapons which includes cutlass, iron rods and acid which she kept in her husband’s compound at Ayobo area of Lagos State and described where she kept it to the assailants.

The suspects went there on Wednesday as planned and matcheted the man severally on his head and poured the acid on him.

The suspects thereafter abandoned the victim and took away his range Rover Jeep which Oluchi instructed them to drop at her brother’s place in Onitsha, Anambra State.

“Luck ran against them when a patrol team of the Ogun State command on Wednesday sighted the vehicle along the Ijebu-Ode/Benin expressway and stopped it for search.

“While searching the vehicle, blood stain was seen and the two occupants were unable to give satisfactory account of the blood stain, hence, they were arrested.

It was during interrogation that the suspects revealed all that transpired to the police.”

NAN reports that the commissioner of police said the man, who had been treated at an undisclosed hospital, was in the custody of the police helping them in the process of investigation.

As usual, Oluchi denied contracting the men to assassinate her estranged husband.

Oluchi, who acknowledged that her three-year-old marriage to her husband had crashed, claimed that she had no reason to kill him.

Meanwhile, Chigozie insisted that it was Oluchi who hired them to kill her husband with a promise to purchase “Tokunbo” cars for each of them after a successful operation

CONFESS YOUR SINS... Senior Advocate To Corrupt Judges & Lawyers

A Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Gbenga Awomolo, has called on the Bar and the Bench to just humble themselves and do the needful.

Awomolo spoke on behalf of the body of the Senior Advocates at the 2016/2017 new legal year in Abuja on Tuesday. He said this is not time for blame games but a time for humble reflection.

His words: “This is the time to humble ourselves and confess our sins and turn to the Lord for forgiveness. This is the time to plead with those senior advocates who claimed that they know those who are corrupt.
“They should name them, our judges should play above 'god' in their decisions for allegations of corruption are so severe.

“How can we clear the bar and the bench from this mess that have brought it so low before the eyes of the public?”
Earlier, the Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami promised that the executive would bring to the courts cases of cogent nature and of substance.

Also, Federal Capital Territory Chief Judge, Ishaq Bello, admitted that the judiciary is going through a trying time. “These are indeed trying times for the judiciary of this country..."

Clinton Lead Among Young Voters, Harvard Poll Finds

Democratic White House candidate Hillary Clinton is leading among likely voters aged 18 to 29, according to a Harvard University opinion poll released today.

The former U.S. secretary of state had the support of 49 percent of likely voters, ahead of Republican rival Donald Trump's 28 percent support, a substantially wider lead than Democratic President Barack Obama had over Republican former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney at the same point in 2012.

National polls of voters of all ages also show Clinton leading, though by a substantially narrower margin.

Some 14 percent of respondents said they planned to vote for Libertarian Gary Johnson, with 5 percent supporting the Green Party's Jill Stein and 11 percent still undecided. More than one in three self-described Johnson voters said they were likely to change their minds before Election Day.

A majority of respondents, 51 percent, described themselves as "fearful" about the future of America, with just 14 percent of the 2,150 respondents saying they believed the country was headed in the right direction.

The sense of fearfulness was most predominant among white respondents, though 85 of black respondents said they believed they were "under attack" in modern American society.

Some 62 percent of respondents said they believed race relations in the United States would worsen if Trump was elected president. Twenty-two percent thought race relations would deteriorate if Clinton won the Nov. 8 election, with the plurality, 36 percent predicting they would stay the same.

With tears rolling down her cheek, a housewife, Mrs Grace Olorunfemi, on today, Wednesday prayed an Akure Customary Court to dissolve her 11-year-old marriage, which, she claimed, turned her to a slave.

Grace submitted that continued marriage to Abiodun would be tantamount to endless servitude.

She alleged that her husband had no care for her and their two children, compelling her to engage in manual labour to fend for the family. “I prefer to be single than continue to live with Abiodun.

He thought I am in his house as a slave,’’ Grace told the court. She submitted that in spite of her complaints, Abiodun failed to repent.

However, Abiodun told the court that he was not ready for divorce. He promised to change his attitude and be a responsible husband.

The President of the court, Mr Rotimi Olusanya, advised the respondent to turn a new leaf to save his marriage. Olusanya also urged Grace to be patient and see if her husband would change his attitude.

He adjourned the case till Nov.17 for further hearing.

Nigerian Footballer, Odion Ighalo, May Be Jailed In Spain For Bribing To Get License

Super Eagles striker, Odion Ighalo, faces a 2-year jail term having been fingered in a bribery scandal while he was playing in Spain with Granada.

Spanish publication, Marca, said the provincial district attorney’s office of Granada has requested a two-year prison term and a fine of 3,000 Euros for Ighalo, his teammate, Diego Buonanotte, and 93 others for allegedly bribing their way to pass a driving test.

According to the provisional writing of the prosecution, in 2012 and 2013 someone was hired to write the exams for Ighalo and the other accused.

After the test was written, the errors made on the sheet were deleted.

Investigation further revealed that three syndicates of Íllora (Granada), Mengíbar (Jaén) and Ciudad Real who moved to Granada allegedly recruited students to help write exams for clients who wanted to pass the driving license exams, and were charged between 1,500 and 2,500 Euros.
Following the incident, prosecutor found the Super Eagles striker culpable of the crime of falsifying an official document.

Meanwhile, as is the practice, Ighalo may be dragged to appear in court to testify in Granada if an open trial is to be held.

Earlier in the week, another former Super Eagles World Cup star, Efetobore Sodje, and three of his brothers, Bright, 50; Samuel, 37; and Stephen, 42; were also summoned to appear at the Westminster Magistrates Court on November 16 to answer fraud charges.

'Davido was just the last straw'- Kaffy apologizes for her early morning outburst

She wrote this: "I want to start by apologizing profusely for my profanity. It's not how I roll .i am one person who promote discipline and respect among dancers towards their clients and one another.

However this issue is REAL. We MATTER and deserve respect as we have become part of the building block of the entertainment world.

We communicate with our bodies what words and sound can't express. We paint a picture that defies laws of nature ND produce masterpieces beyond mere imaginations.

It requires a lot of brain power to begin to be a dancer not to talk of the ability to command muscles people can't imagine using and that is still underrating the Power of the Art of Dance.

From youth empowerment to mind empowerment it is the least looked into form of psychological, physical and spiritual reformation.

And I can categorically tell u a lot of lives have been changed for the better because we danced.
So WE MATTER. beyond the dance floor we matter against all odds of societal definition of success we matter, thrive and we rule.

So it is time we take control and have a voice. Create structure that will protect us from further disrespect and I will do all in my power to continue to protect dancers.I know great minds out there in our world that will rise up too. It's been years and I have been quiet for too long.

And this is not just in Africa it's everywhere.

Davido was just the last straw. It didn't start with him but we can put a stop.
Thank you to all who support this fight. God bless #Dancers #Dancetrepenuers #Danceteachers #Dancelovers #Dancemoms #Dancedads

Tyler Perry says he still struggles to get white audiences, despite Box Office Massive Views

Director, playwright, and actor Tyler Perry is celebrating the #1 box office success of his latest movie, ‘Boo! A Madea Halloween’. The holiday film edged out Tom Cruise‘s ‘Jack Reacher: Never Go Back’ with ticket sales of $17.6 million.

But Perry says he's still struggling to get white audiences to see his movies.

“I still have issues getting screens in white neighborhoods believe it or not,” Perry told The Wrap.

47-year-old Perry said he thinks “Boo!” would have done better if the movie was in more theaters in white neighborhoods.

“I think the numbers could have been bigger had people who are in the white suburbs had the option to go to their own theaters to see it. It’s something I’ve been dealing with for many many years,” he sighed.

Perry suggests there might be a Hollywood conspiracy to sabotage his success.

“All I know is, I have 1,500 less screens than ‘Jack Reacher,'” Perry said.

Perry’s ‘Boo! A Madea Halloween’ drew 30% more white viewers than any of his previous movie
