Final year student of Abia State Polytechnic dies few months to her graduation

                                

 

Sad news from Abia state as Josephine Nwagu, a final year Computer Science HND student of the Abia State Polytechnic, Aba has passed away.

According to her friends, who announced the sad news on Facebook this morning, the deceased was just a few months away from graduating from the institution.
No details on the cause of her death as at time of publishing.
May her soul rest in peace.
                                

Tragic Moment Crying 17-Month-Old Toddler Is Found Drinking Milk From His Mother's Dead Body

This is the tragic moment a crying toddler desperately tries to drink his mother's milk, unaware that she is dead. Police were called to reports of a dead body near train tracks in Damoh district, Madhya Pradesh, India, this morning.

When officers arrived they saw a crowd around the woman and her crying 17-month-old baby. Witness Monu Balmiki, 27, said: 'We saw a woman lying near the railway track and informed the police. 'But when we got closer we spotted a child next to her crying and drinking her milk. It brought tears to our eyes.'

Officer Nand Ram, who is the head constable of the Government Railway Police, said: 'The toddler was crying for his mother and on receiving no response from her; he held her and started drinking milk from her.


'We were shocked to see it, it was very sad. The woman was lying dead while the child was sitting next to her scratchless.

'This was something we have never seen before. It was quite emotional for us all.

Mr Balmiki added that the had been sent for a post-mortem and an investigation is underway to determine the cause of death.

The toddler was taken to a nearby hospital for a check-up and the local Child Welfare Committee was informed.

Police Catch Pigeon With Tiny Backpack Full of Drugs

A pigeon with a tiny backpack full of drugs, presumably on his way to the best rave ever, was apprehended by Kuwaiti customs agents when he crossed the border from Iraq.

According to Al Arabiya, the little guy was caught at the Kuwaiti border with 178 tiny pills strapped to him. (Using pigeons to traffic drugs is nothing new, but this little backpack, in particular, is an adorable method.)

The pigeon, who’s trying to make it as a model/DJ in his downtime, was pretty bummed that his party was ruined.

Royal Queen Visits Young Terror Attack Victims

The Queen has condemned the very wicked Manchester terror attack during a visit to the Royal Manchester Children's Hospital today.

The monarch, 91, spent time speaking to Millie Robson, 15, Evie Mills, 14, and Amy Barlow, 12, who were among the the 14 children rushed to the hospital in the aftermath of Monday night's atrocity.

Speaking to Evie, a schoolgirl from Harrogate, Yorkshire, on the hospital ward, the Queen said: 'It's dreadful. Very wicked. To target that sort of thing.'

She also thanked hospital staff and paramedics who worked tirelessly to keep the children alive in the hours after the tragedy.

Militants Storm Lagos State Model College, Epe AGAIN, Abduct 6 Students-Breaking New

A gang of militants, early on Thursday morning, struck at Lagos State Model College, Igbonla, Epe, abducting six students from the boys' hostel. Earlier in the week, the kidnappers had written to the school, informing the authorities of their plan to strike, Sahara Reporters reports.
                                                                         
The school management promptly notified the Nigerian Police, which sent its men to take strategic positions around the school.

However, the Police were overwhelmed by the number of militants and the sophisticated weapons they carried. The kidnappers are believed to be Niger Delta militants, who have been involved in a variety of criminal activities in the area.

Last October, kidnappers attacked the same school seizing four students,  two members of staff, including a Vice Principal.

35 More Nigerians Deported By UK Government

The Government of the United Kingdom on Wednesday deported 35 Nigerians for committing immigration-related offences in the country.

The deportees arrived Murtala Muhammed International Airport Lagos at about 5.50am.

The deportees - 30 males and five females - were brought back aboard a chartered aircraft.

Spokesman of Lagos Airport Police Command, DSP Joseph Alabi, confirmed the development.

The deportees were received by officers of the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS), the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) and the Police.

Also on ground to receive them were officials of Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN).

It was learnt that the deportees were profiled by the immigration authorities and were each given a stipend to facilitate their transportation to their respective states.

Recall that the British authorities had on March 31 deported 23 Nigerians for similar reasons.

Police Arrest Guys Who R*ped A Married Woman In Rivers

Police operatives of the Elimgbu Division, Rivers State Command have arrested two members of a six-man gang that r*ped a married lady. Police are on the manhunt for the rest of the suspects.

The two suspects have been charged to court.

20-year-old rapes 9-year-old girl on her father’s bedroom

   
              
The men of Ogun State Police Command have arrested one 20-year-old Segun Olaseni for allegedly raping a 9-year-old girl.
The suspect was said to have been arrested last Sunday following a complaint from the father of the victim, Adepoju Akinyemi, who reported the matter to Sango-Ota Divisional Police Headquarters.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, said the father of the victim had reported that the suspect came to his house at the New life Estate Ota, while he was at his workplace and forcibly had carnal knowledge of his daughter.Oyeyemi said on interrogation after the arrest, the suspect confessed to committing the crime, claiming that he exploited his closeness to the family since their houses were not far from each other.
He added that the suspect also said he met the girl alone in their living room from where he dragged her into her father’s bedroom and had sex with her.
Meanwhile, the state Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Iliyasu, has ordered the transfer of the case to the Anti-Human Trafficking and Child Labour Unit of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, Abeokuta, for further investigation and possible prosecution of the suspect.

The rapper who is preparing for his child support graduation has revealed he has 4 months left to pay his first baby mama, Shaniqua Tompkins.The “Power” star took to Instagram to throw a shot at Shaniqua Tompkins with the above photo of a father proudly celebrating his graduation from child support.
He also revealed he has payed her a total of $1,369,400 to date and has just $30,600 to pay.

NairaBet agent commits suicide over inability to pay N600,000 (Photo)

                                                          

                
A NairaBet agent ended his life, on Wednesday, over his inability to pay a customer who allegedly won a N600,000 bet.
According to Punch, Residents of Obadeyi Ajala woke up on Wednesday to find the deceased dangling from a rope in an uncompleted shop at Ajala bus stop, on the Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway.
A girlfriend of the deceased, who reportedly worked in a filling station in the area, was alerted. The lady reportedly passed out on sighting the body, but was revived by the sympathisers at the scene.
                           
A resident, Monday Gabriel, told our correspondent on the telephone that the lady gave an account of what could have prompted him to commit suicide. He said, “When she regained consciousness, she told us that the man sent her a text message yesterday (Tuesday), saying he wanted to commit suicide.
She said she called his line, but he didn’t pick his calls. According to the girlfriend, the late man had a NairaBet shop. One of the customers won N600,000, but he has not paid him.”
Another eyewitness, Olanrewaju Adebiyi, said, “I learnt he ran a NairaBet shop. If it is true that he was owing a customer N600,000, he must have received the money from the NairaBet management and used it for something else.
                              
I also play NairaBet and whenever I win, the agent I patronise pays me the moment the company credits his account. The company doesn’t owe the agents, but some of them play smart at times when customers win big money.”
An official of NairaBet Contact Centre, who gave her name only as Chidika, said that the firm always paid for any won ticket, She said, “We always pay for any won ticket. An agent has his own personal business. .
He/she is just a partner with NairaBet in which we share commission on a monthly or weekly basis. So, it depends on the understanding he had with the customer or the issue on the ground before he committed suicide.”
