Female suicide bomber disobeys Shekau, opens up to Army

A teenager, Amina Yusuf, paraded by the military in Maiduguri has said she failed to detonate her explosive because she did not subscribe to Boko Haram ideology.

The 17-year-old girl told newsmen in Maiduguri that she was abducted five years ago, alongside her parents, in Madagali, Adamawa State, after a terror attack on the village.
He words: “I was abducted alongside my parents in Madagali in Adamawa after the terrorists attacked our village. We were taken to a camp in the bush where we were forcefully indoctrinated by the group.”

The girl alleged that her parents were killed after they had refused to be indoctrinated.

“My parents were executed because they did not join the group. I was married off to a Boko Haram militant with whom I lived in the camp,” she said.

“One day I was asked to wear the bombs. I was brought to Maiduguri with an instruction that I detonate the bomb where there is large crowd of people”,the teenager added.

She said that she declined to detonate the explosive because she did not want to die.

“They said I should press the button but I refused and allowed security men to capture me alive. My four siblings are still with the terrorists in the camp,” said added.

Court Dissolves Emeka Ike’s 14-Year Old Marriage

A Lagos Island Customary Court today dissolved the marriage between Nollywood actor, Emeka Ike and his wife, Emma over an alleged incessant battery.

Emma, a teacher, had on July 13, 2015, approached the court to dissolve the 14-year-old marriage between her and the Nollywood star.

The court president, Mr Awos Awosola, said from the totality of the evidence before the court, it was obvious that the marriage was beyond redemption.

“Emeka, who has been begging to be reconciled with his wife, has not made any effort towards the reconciliation.

“The marriage is hereby dissolved with effect from March 2, in accordance with the Lagos State Customary Court Law, 2011; Order 3 Rule 7 as amended.

“Any party that is not satisfied with the judgment has the right to appeal to any court of higher jurisdiction within 30 days from today,’’ the court president ruled.

Awosola awarded the custody of their four children to the husband and ordered that the wife must have unhindered access to them.

He said that N300 paid as Emma’s bride price had been returned to Emeka and urged both parties to maintain peace.

The mother of four had earlier told the court that her husband had been physically and verbally abusing her all through the duration of their marriage.

“My husband treated me like nobody and throughout this divorce tussle; he had denied me access to my children,” the woman said.

“He does not allow them to pick my call as he keeps changing their numbers.

“The last time I heard my first son’s voice was when he was sick and about to undergo surgery.

“It was a friend who informed me that my son was in the hospital and I called Emeka asking him for the location of the hospital but he refused to disclose that

“I’ve guys we are not dating but I get intimate with them"-Ghanian Highlife Artiste

Highlife songstress Sista Afia has said numerous times that she does have a guy in her life but she has sex whenever she feels like.

The ‘Jeje’ singer in a recent interview with Hitz FM’s MzGee has disclosed that she goes into an agreement with guys before they do the ‘thing.’
According to her, she is not ready to involve herself in a relationship so the contract is for the two to agree that they are just doing something to have pleasure but not to enter into a relationship afterwards.

Afia added that most guys find it difficult to honour their side of the contract after the sexual encounter but she insists they go by the agreement.

The musician real name Franchesca Duncan Williams explained that most guys decide to be in a relationship with her because she is a person who accepts a situation as it is and is prepared to deal with it accordingly.

“I’ve guys we are not dating but I get intimate with them. The guys fall in love with me after the action but because I’ve made up my mind that I’m not really going to put myself in that tight position, I remind them that it is a contract. We make a verbal contract before everything happens.

I just want the guy to serve my needs but the relationship will be out of the plan. Most guys like real girls and I’m 100% real so that is the reason why they want to be with me after our encounter but I don’t want to lose myself.” she told MzGee.

Talking about the period her contract with the lucky guys last, Sista Afia disclosed, “it all depends on the type of guy”. The professional nurse disposes of the guys “when I feel like they need to be disposed of”.

Pastor Accused Of Seducing Ex-Rep’s Wife Granted Bail

A Bukuru Chief Magistrate’s Court in Plateau has granted bail to Danjuma Fwenji, an Evangelist, who was alleged to have criminally enticed Joy, the wife of Leonard Dilkon, a former House of Representatives member.

The accused, who is the Overseer of God’s Grace Divine Mission, Jos, was granted bail in the sum of N1.5 million at the hearing of the case on Wednesday.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Mr. Dilkon, who represented Pankshin/Kanam/ Kanke constituency in the House of Representatives between 2003 and 2007, had dragged Mr. Fwenji to the court for allegedly enticing his wife.

Mr. Fwenji denied the allegation.

At the resumed hearing of the case on Wednesday, his counsel, Smart Irabor, prayed the court to grant his client bail, quoting section 36 (5) of the 1999 constitution that held that an accused person was innocent until otherwise proven.

Mr. Irabor told the court that his client would neither jump bail, nor interfere with police investigation.

“I can also assure the court that my client will always be available for trial,” he said.
Mr. Irabor further urged the court to grant the accused bail on self-recognizance.

But Francis Okafor, counsel to the complainant, who did not object to the bail appeal, prayed that the court should take stringent measures in granting it.

“This is important because the accused has been avoiding the court.

“He has always refused to appear before the court to clear himself of the allegations levelled against him,” he said.

Mr. Okafor recalled that two bench warrants were issued on the accused but that it had always been difficult to serve him because “he moves around with armed policemen”.

The counsel said that the demand for bail on self-recognizance was “an insult” to the court because the case was a direct criminal complaint and not a police prosecution.

In his ruling, the Chief Magistrate, Sam Galadima, admitted the accused to bail in the sum of N1.5 million and two sureties in like sum.

Mr. Galadima said the sureties must be persons of standing and proven integrity, and must also reside within the jurisdiction of the court.

The magistrate adjourned the matter till April 27, for further hearing.

Lagos deadly gang leader Small-Jpron escaped from Prison

Two operatives of the Lagos State Command are being detained for their alleged involvement in the release of a suspected serial killer, Ibrahim Balogun aka Small-Jpron.

The 36-year-old, who was notorious for cultism and killings in the Somolu and Bariga areas of Lagos, was said to have escaped from prison with the help of the policemen and other judicial officials at large.

Small-Jpron was earlier arrested in August 2016, and paraded at the command’s headquarters in Ikeja, where he confessed his involvement in the killings of three persons.

He had said, “I am an Eiye cult leader. I joined the cult in 2009. The reason for my joining was to avenge the death of a close friend, Sunday Folorunsho, aka Small Biscuit.

“It was the Aiye cult members who killed him. So, the Eiye faction approached me and said I should join them and they would help me fish out the people who killed my friend. I have killed three persons, among whom were Femi Wiper and Lekan Akon.”

Small-Jpron was arraigned at an Ebute-Meta Magistrate’s Court. He disappeared from the public radar afterwards.

Good news is that he was re-arrested on Monday.

Although the suspect insisted that he was granted bail by the court, the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Fatai Owoseni, while parading him at the command headquarters on Wednesday, said he escaped from custody in connivance with the two police operatives.

The CP said the policemen, whose names were not disclosed, were under investigation, adding that other persons involved in the suspect’s release would be brought to book.

He said, “The suspect broke out of prison shortly after he was remanded. The circumstances surrounding his escape are being investigated. We are also investigating the complicity of two of our officials in ensuring his escape from the prison.

“We will not leave any stone unturned. Any judicial official found to be involved will also be brought to book.”

In a chat with Punch, Small-Japron, who was said to be the leader of the Eiye Confraternity, stated that he was in the court for the continuation of his trial on the day he was re-arrested.

He explained that the police had brought him and his “second-in-command”, identified simply as Abbey, for arraignment in September 2016, when the latter disappeared.

The suspect claimed that he had denounced his membership of the cult, adding that his “former group” instigated his arrest.

He said, “When I was in prison, a brother in my area called Asuma told me not to worry that he would ensure my release. He is an omoonile (land grabber). He said he would see one justice over my case. I didn’t fight anybody again. I had gone to the court on Monday when policemen arrested me.

“Eiye cult members are fighting me because I told them I was no longer interested in the group. They set me up that day.

“The policemen asked me where Abbey was and I said I didn’t know. They told me that the prosecutor and the IPO (Investigating Police Officer) had been detained and that they wanted to know how he escaped on the first day we were brought to court. I have never jumped bail since I was arraigned in court.”

Investigation is ongoing in the matter.

Exclusice-Buhari Ailment Revealed By UK Doctors

A source familiar with President Muhammadu Buhari’s medical treatment in London has revealed to SaharaReporters that, apart from a lingering prostrate flare-up and other chronic conditions, the Nigerian leader has also recently been battling with a persistent “internal organ” problem, a fact this website reported on Sunday. The source attributed President Buhari’s inability to eat as well as his progressive loss of weight to Crohn’s Disease, a medical condition that has affected his digestive system.

According to the source, Mr. Buhari had had parts of his colon removed in 2013 and also had another operation to have hemorrhoids, swollen veins near the human rectum, removed in 2016 in London during one of his secret trips to seek urgent medical treatment. The latest revelation appears to validate a claim by Mr. Buhari’s wife, Aisha Buhari, to the effect that her husband was dealing with “internal organ failure.” In interviews, several doctors in Nigeria and the UK told Saharareporters that the fact that Mr. Buhari was an outpatient indicated a condition consistent with Crohn’s disease.

                   Image result for buhari
Two of the doctors stated that it was likely that President Buhari’s course of treatment for his prostrate and other issues led to a complication and worsening of his Crohn’s disease. SaharaReporters had reported that Mr. Buhari also has prostate cancer that was first treated by UK doctors shortly after the Nigerian leader lost the 2011 presidential election to former President Goodluck Jonathan. Crohn’s disease is an inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) that causes inflammation of the lining of the digestive tract, leading to abdominal pain, severe diarrhea, fatigue, weight loss and malnutrition. Inflammation caused by the disease can affect different areas of the digestive tract in different patients, but doctors interviewed for this report disclosed that it usually occurs in the intestines, where the inflammation caused by Crohn’s disease often spreads deep into the layers of affected bowel tissue. Doctors also revealed that Crohn’s disease can be both painful and debilitating, and sometimes may lead to life-threatening complications.
“When it occurs in younger people, there is a higher chance of future complications than in older patients,” one doctor told our correspondent. He added that the disease “often worsens with age.” According to the doctors consulted for this report, while there is no known cure for Crohn’s disease, palliative therapies can greatly reduce its signs and symptoms and even bring about long-term remission. Some of the doctors stressed that, with proper treatment and management, many patients with Crohn’s disease are able to function well. The doctors stated that the cause of Crohn’s disease is largely unknown. However, one doctor said the condition was likely due to an abnormal response of the immune system. Food or bacteria in the intestines, or even the lining of the bowel, may cause the uncontrolled inflammation associated with Crohn’s disease. The doctors disclosed that the inheritance pattern of Crohn’s disease was also unclear, noting that several genetic and environmental factors are often at play in the occurrence of the disease. According to one doctor, the condition tends to “cluster in families.” He explained that having an affected family member was deemed to constitute a significant risk factor for the disease

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has concluded arrangements to prosecute a Deputy Director of INEC in Akwa Ibom and former Electoral Officer in Rivers, Gogo Anderson Waribo.

The antigraft agency, in a statement by its spokesman, Wilson Uwujaren, on Wednesday said Waribo would be arraigned for allegedly collecting N16m from the N23bn-Diezani Allison Madueke’s 2015 general election bribery funds.

It said that Waribo was arrested by operatives of the anti-graft agency, following intelligence report that some INEC officers conspired with some staff of Fidelity Bank to defraud the Federal Government of several millions of naira.

He said, “Although he has consistently denied involvement in the fraud, investigation revealed that the INEC Deputy Director’s name is on the list of beneficiaries of the money.

“He is alleged to have received the sum of N16m through his First Bank account on March 27, 2015. Waribo allegedly gave N5m from the N16 million to Peter Popnen, an ex- INEC official.”

It said that the suspect would be arraigned in court when investigations were completed.

Mother, 3 Children Killed For "Rituals" In Lagos

Three children between ages four and nine and their mother have been killed on Masafejo Street, Agbowa, in the Ikorodu area of Lagos by hoodlums suspected to be ritual killers.

It was learnt that the assailants invaded the family’s residence around 2am on Wednesday, and inflicted machete cuts on the siblings and their mother.
The victims, whose name had yet to be ascertained, lived in an uncompleted Cherubim and Seraphim Church in the community.

It was gathered that the attention of the police at the Agbowa division was drawn to the incident by members of the church, who had gone for prayer around 5am after the murderers left the scene.

A police source disclosed to our correspondent that the children were found dead in the church, adding that their mother gave up the ghost in a hospital.

He said, “The station received a distressed call around 5am that three children were killed and operatives went to the scene. The children were aged between four and nine. They were dead and in a pool of blood, but their mother was still breathing.

“She was rushed to a hospital, where she died. The cause of the attack is still a mystery, but the perpetrators will be fished out.”

The source, however, added that the attack might not be unconnected with incidences of ritual killings in Ibeshe and Okegbegun communities in Ikorodu.

“The attack was similar to what happened in Ibeshe community, where some hoodlums gained entrance into houses in the midnight through the windows and attacked their victims,” he added.

The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Fatai Owoseni, on Wednesday confirmed the incident, saying a manhunt had been launched for the suspects.

Ashley Cole Posts Gushing Tweet About Son Days After Ex-Wife Announces She Is Pregnant

A week after his ex-wife Cheryl finally confirmed she was pregnant with her boyfriend Liam Payne's child, Ashley Cole has shared his own feelings about parenting.

His son turned one on Tuesday, and the footballer marked the opportunity with a gushing paragraph about the joys of fatherhood, which he posted to Twitter.

In the post, Ashley was sure to firstly list all the material belongings his footballing pay-cheque has allowed him to buy.

'I’ve been incredibly fortunate to have most things I’ve wanted in life: Cars, houses, watches, clothes,' he wrote. Continue...

He then moved on to a nod to his childhood, which was, evidently, not an easy one.

'Coming from East London with not a lot growing up, and a mum looking after two boys alone, life wasn’t easy.

'So of course it’s easy to lose your way in life sometimes – to forget about the things that are most important.'

Eventually, he got to the point - and mentioned his son, who he had with Italian model Sharon Canu after just six months of dating.

'Every day I wake up to the most beautiful thing I could dream of: A son that makes my heart melt, a son that never stops smiling, a son that can make me laugh no matter what kind of mood I’m in, a son that I’m proud of, a son I watch fall asleep because I never want to leave him, a son who reminded me what’s most important in life,' the tweet went on.

This comes as his former wife, Cheryl whom he cheated on, it is alleged, with at least three women has confirmed the news that she is with child.

She thrilled fans by proudly unveiling her baby bump in her new campaign imagery last week, and has now appeared in a second video in aid of the Price's Trust and L'Oreal Paris's new collaborative campaign, which sees the pop princess reflect on her battle with self-esteem.

Time Magazine’s Person - Nurse Salome Karwah Dies

Liberian nurse Salome Karwah was one of those named as Time magazine's person of the year in 2014 for her frontline work against Ebola. She died in Monrovia last week after giving birth to a son.

Her husband told the BBC that nurses were unwilling to touch her for fear of contracting Ebola - even though she recently tested negative for Ebola.

James Harris said his wife had given birth to their fourth child by Caesarean section on 17 February, but had to be rushed back to hospital after suffering complications.

They were kept waiting in their vehicle for three hours because the nurses were afraid to touch her, Mr Harris said.

"I personally went into the emergency ward to bring a wheelchair to take my wife into the operation room.

"What really hurt me was a nurse on duty, instead of attending to the emergency, was standing by the front counter busy on Facebook," he said.

He believes health workers did not act with more urgency "because she was an Ebola survivor and maybe they thought she still had Ebola".

He also alleged that the hospital had discharged her early after the Caesarean, even though "her blood pressure was high".

Health officials confirmed the case was being investigated.

"The investigation is ongoing, there is not much I can say. As it is now, it is kind of scanty to come out with anything, we have to do a thorough investigation," Liberia's Chief Medical Officer, Dr Francis Kateh, told BBC. May her soul rest in peace.

Xenophobic attack: Niger Delta militants threaten to shutdown MTN, Dstv, others

A coalition of Niger Delta militants on Wednesday threatened to blow up Multichoice (DSTV), MTN, Shoprite and 16 other major South African investments in Nigeria if the Federal Government failed to close them down within one month.
The militant groups, who were reacting to the ongoing xenophobic attacks on Nigerians and their businesses, gave one month ultimatum to South Africans living in Nigeria to relocate.
The threat from the militant groups namely, Niger Delta Watchdogs, Niger Delta Volunteers and Niger Delta Strike Force is contained in a copy of a letter addressed to the Office of the South African High Commission to Nigeria located at 71, Usuma Street, Off Gana Street, Abuja.

Signatories to the letter are General John Duku (Niger Delta Watchdogs), General Ekpo Ekpo (Niger Delta Volunteer) and General Hart Bradford (Niger Delta Strike Force).

In the letter titled ‘Attack and Killings of Nigerians Living in South Africa’, the militants expressed anger that the South African Police were shielding criminals and joining them (criminals) to kill Nigerians.

Apart from MTN, DSTV and Shoprite, some of the South African companies in Nigeria listed for attack by the militants are Eskom Nigeria, South African Breweries (SAB Miller), Umgeni Water, Refresh Product, LTA Construction and Protea Hotels.

Others, according to the letter, are Critical Rescue International, Global Outdoor Semces, PEP Retail Stores, Woolworths Holdings Limited, Truworths International Limited, Clover Industries, Oracle, Power Giant and Airtime.

The militants said,

“Arising from the joint meeting of the Niger Delta Watchdogs, Niger Delta Volunteers and Niger Delta Strike Force held today (Wednesday) in Port Harcourt, we condemn the recent attack on Nigerians in South Africa.
We want to state that the recent attack (on Nigerians in South Africa) will mark the end of this nonsense because we will not fold our arms and allow this to continue. We, therefore, call on the Nigerian Government to immediately close down all the businesses owned by South Africans in Nigeria.
Failure to close down these companies within one month, we shall mobilise in full force and commence massive attack on the above mentioned South African-owned investments in Nigeria. We shall also make sure that all MTN masts and offices are brought down to naught.
We shall strike any property and persons from South Africa within our reach; we will bring down Multichoice (DSTV), Shoprite and others. We will not fold our arms and watch you (South Africans) slaughter our people like chickens for no just cause.
We are fully prepared; our professional fighters are already strategising, South Africans must be crushed in Nigeria; our people must be free from these wicked agents.”
