Taliban Stone Afghan Woman To Death After Accusing Her Of Adultery

A 22-year-old woman has been stoned to death by a group of men identified as Taliban insurgents, after she was accused of adultery. Afghan official Abdul Hai Khateby, spokesman for the governor of central Ghor province, said the woman, identified only as Rokhshana, was thrown into a hole in the ground and stoned to death.

Khateby said Rokhshana had been accused of running away from home and committing adultery. A 30-second video appearing to show the punishment has been published online, showing a woman believed to be Rokhshana in a hole in the ground surrounded by turbaned men hurling stones at her.

She can be heard uttering phrases relating to the Muslim faith as the stones strike her. The 23-year-old man Rokhshana was eloping with was let off with only a lashing, Provincial Governor Seema Joyenda told Radio Free Europe.

She added Rokhshana had been married off by her family against her will.

“This is the first incident in the area [this year] but it will not be the last,” she said.

Rokhshana was killed on 24 October in a village about 45 kilometers (28 miles) north of Firozkoh, capital of Ghor.

The area is controlled by Taliban insurgents “who implement their own barbaric laws,” Khateby told the Associated Press.

Stoning is illegal under the Afghan constitution, though incidents are unusual but not unheard of in Afghanistan, where women are the main victims.

Landlady Arrested Over Male Tenant’s Death

A landlady simply identified as Alhaja Yusuf has been arrested for the death of her tenant, Charles Enokela, popularly called Pketimi.
The 67-year-old woman was arrested with her son Akeem Yusuf following Enokela’s death from a head injury.

The late Enokela, an Okada rider from Benue State, was said to have fallen out with his landlady for allegedly drinking and keeping late nights.

Alhaja Yusuf, it was learnt, served him a quit notice after his rent lapsed in December last year.

The late Enokela’s relation, Ikwuoche said the landlady had threatened to kill him if he did not vacate the house.

He said: “Pketimi told me that he got a house at Igando and needed only next week to stay at that house. He told me that the children of Alhaja Yusuf said he must leave their house alive or die. Look at what this woman did to us.”

A witness who didn’t want his name mentioned said the late Enokela told him that the landlady’s son, a police officer threatened to deal with him and lock him up in cell, and “could cover up anything that happened.”

Neighbours and some of his colleagues described the late Enokela as “a friendly man”.

Jennifer Lopez 'dating Alex Rodriguez After Her Breakup With with Drake'

Jennifer Lopez is dating former New York Yankees baseball player Alex Rodriguez, according to US reports.

Alex was spotted at one of the star's Las Vegas shows last month, and they've also reportedly spent time together in Miami while she records her album.
Alex lives in Miami with his two daughters, but also has a home in Los Angeles.

A source told E! News: "This is very, very new. It's not serious at all. J-Lo is just dating.

"Jennifer and Alex are both not looking for a relationship, just a good light-hearted time. They are on the exact same page."

Alex recently split from tech tycoon Anne Wojcicki, while Jennifer, 47, was linked to Canadian rapper Drake until earlier this year.
Last month, the actress and singer opened up about her dating life during an appearance on Ellen.

She said: "First of all, stop! I don't date younger men. I don't think men have to be younger. It's not about that. I just meet people, and if I go out with them, I go out with them.

"And if I like them, I like them, and if I don't, I don't. It's about the person, you know what I mean? It's about who they are. It has nothing to do with age!

"There's this thing, because I dated Beau [her backing dancer Casper Smart], and he was younger, and he was the first guy I ever dated who was younger than me, but then I got labelled right away.

"For me, it isn't [about age]. If they're older, they're older. If they're younger, they're younger. It depends on whether or not I'm attracted to their spirit, their soul, their whatever... their energy."

She was linked to Drake until earlier this year

While speaking about her brief romance with Drake, she added: "We did a song together. We were not writing a song right at that moment. We were just hanging out. Actually he sent me a song that he wanted me to be on, and then I got on the song, and yeah, we have a song together."

Jennifer has eight-year-old twins Max and Emme with ex-husband Marc Anthony.

Security Guard Locks Blind Employer In Room, Steals Cash

A security guard, Miracle Lamber, who allegedly locked up his blind employer in a room and bolted with his N50,000 cash, was on Wednesday arraigned in an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court in Lagos.

The 21-year-old accused was arraigned before Magistrate Mrs Y.O. Ekogbule on a two-count charge of breach of peace and stealing.

Lamber, who resides with the complainant, however, denied the charges and was admitted to bail of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum.

Earlier, the Prosecutor, Insp. Clement Ikuoimose, said that the accused committed the offences on Oct. 18, 2016, in Ifako-Ijaye, Lagos.

“When he discovered that the complainant was locked up inside one of his rooms, the man broke the door to gain entrance into the room.

“The accused was arrested after four months of his disappearance.”

NAN reports that if found guilty of stealing, the accused could be sentenced to three years’ imprisonment, according to the provisions of Section 285.

French presidential election candidate arrested while campaigning topless

A former stripper who wants to run for the French presidential election was arrested for parading topless in the street to promote transparency.
Cindy Lee, 52, who is the candidate for the Pleasure Party in France, was handing out pamphlets and talking to voters while she was wearing just a pair of hotpants and tassels covering each nipple.

But her desire to shine a light on what she described as corruption in French politics did not go well, as she was arrested by 30 riot police officers who had mistaken her for a radical feminist activist.

The potential presidential candidate stripped down and talked to LCI surrounded by her supporters.
She said: 'We are here to demand transparency when it comes to corruption, and this outfit justifies transparency
'I advocate the well-being of the individual in society, putting people at the centre of politics.'

As well as talking to the local press, she stopped motorists to hand out her manifesto, which includes pumping money into projects to help residents enjoy a more fulfilled sex life.

Her effort to gain support was cut short just as she was getting into the groove of her campaigning when 30 riot police officers led her away.

They wrongly thought she was associated to the Femen movement, which regularly holds topless protest against the exploitation of women that invariably result in those taking part being detained.

Man Rapes 3-Year Old Step Daughter After Wife Refused Him Sex

The Police in Niger on Wednesday arrested a 45-year-old-man, over alleged rape of his three-year-old stepdaughter. The suspect was arrested in Kundu, a village in Rafi Local Government Area of the state.

Police Inspector Abdullahi Mayaki, attached to the state Child Rights Protection Agency, said that the mother of the girl, Malama Fatima Bawa, reported the matter to the agency.

He said that the suspect, however, denied the allegation during investigation, claiming that he only intervened whenever his wife beat the girl.

But Bawa had told the agency that she caught her husband sexually abusing her daughter after he approached her for sex at night and she refused him.

He said, “My husband likes sex too much, so I chased him out of the room in the night and locked the door.

“It was after I chased him out that I heard my daughter, who was sleeping in the parlour, crying.

“I quickly ran to her only to see my husband abusing my daughter sexually.

“I am a breast feeding mother and I spend the whole of my day taking care of the children, yet my husband does not allow me to rest.”

Bawa alleged that she saw blood stained and semen on the girl’s body and informed her brother in-laws wife about the incident who advised her to take the girl to the hospital.

The Director-General of the agency, Hajiya Mariam Kolo, said that the victim would be treated in the hospital.

Kolo also said that the suspect would be charge to court in accordance with Section 18 of the Child Rights Law.

The Director-General described the act as ‘ungodly’, saying that the state government would no longer condone any form of violence against children and women.
