Limousine Keke Napep Spotted In Lagos

Lagos, where you can find anything and everything. An ultramodern Tricycle caused a stir in the FESTAC Town area of Lagos yesterday around 6th Avenue.

Technologically improved Tricycles might be storming Nigeria in the coming months as Lagosians have started importing them.

The Tricycle which is well covered like a mini-bus costs a whooping sum of N750, 000 as against the conventional one that goes for a sum of N650,000.

It comes with an extra seat, doors, windows, standard roof and more space with a small cooling fan to boost ventilation.

The interesting feature of the Tricycle is that it doesn't use fuel. It is powered by electricity. The Tricycle operator told Tori News that it could move around town for a period of two days after being charged for just four hours.

The new Keke Napep is very rare in Lagos as commercial riders are watching earnestly before investing in such. The improved Tricycle rode around 6th Avenue in Festac Town towards the Apple junction area amidst amusement by passers-by and commuters.
If the rider forgets to charge it after 2 days, the Keke will stop on the road and leave you stranded.

Man awarded N530,000 by court against MTN for unauthorized callertunez deduction

                              
The Federal High Court in Ibadan on Wednesday, March 1, 2017 has awarded N530,000 to one Oluwole Aluko for unauthorised deduction from his lines by MTN Nigeria.

Justice Nathaniel Ayo-Emmanuel who passed the judgement, held that MTN had found itself guilty by not challenging the suit.

In his Judgement, he stated:

“The plaintiff has the right to allow or reject the use of a caller tune. MTN cannot force the use of any caller tune on him or anybody because it is unlawful. 

Though the plaintiff sought N10 million as damages, but I hold that any damage suffered must be commensurate with the claim. 

I, hereby, award a cost of N500,000 for the damages suffered and another N30,000 as cost incurred during the court process.”

The complainant, who is also stand in as counsel for himself in the case, had in 2016 filed a N10 million suit against the same telecom giant.

He claimed that MTN Nigeria had unlawfully made series of deductions from three of his MTN lines for caller tunes which he did not subscribe to.

However, in another twist, Mr Fatiullah Tiamiyu who the defence counsel has claimed that MTN is not aware of any court process.

He said: “That is the reason the company has not been represented in any previous sitting.”

Girl accused and called out on Facebook for infecting man with HIV, shares test result

A Port Harcourt girl whose photos have gone viral over claims of being HIV+ has released photos and a video evidence to prove she is negative.

Facebook user,  Kelvin Peters is claiming that a young lady identified as Ogbuka Gloria Ada, infected his friend with Aids. He posted photos of her and wrote;

"A friend of mine just shared this with me, please n please read carefully to the end,u Neva know whom u might be saving from this wicked act of a human,for some reasons I wouldn't want to display his name on social media. He met dis lady called Ogbuka Gloria Ada they have been dating for some time unknown to him she is HIV positive and she has hidden it from him. He was sick and went to run a test in d hospital where he was detected to be positive he quickly called Gloria to ask her if she has been feeling some way lately she said no, all of a sudden she blocked him on FB and started acting strange towards him. He decided to approach her via whatsapp and to his greatest surprise she didn't deny the fact she's HIV positive!! Mbeki warns South Africans attacking Nigerians: Don't be ungrateful to those that helped us

Former South Africa’s president, Thabo Mbeki has condemned the anti-immigrant protest march which was preceded by attacks on foreign nationals in different parts of the country.

His words; “I must express my grave concern at events which took place in this city last week, in the context of what was reported as an anti-immigrant march. In that context, I want to say ‘thank you’ to Ringo Madlingozi for what he said in the songs he rendered.

“As South Africans, we should never forget the enormous sacrifices that were made by the sister people of Africa to help us achieve our liberation. 

"We cannot now behave in a manner that treats fellow Africans, who are now residents in our country, as enemies or unwelcome guests, neither should we commit the offence of viewing or characterising African migrants in our country as criminals.”

Mbeki said communities must report criminal activities to police and avoid taking the law into their own hands.

“When our communities discover or suspect criminal activities in their areas, regardless of the nationality of the alleged criminals, it must be reported to the [South African] Police Service. The police service itself has an absolute obligation to follow up on these community reports to avoid people taking the law into their own hands.

“All of us know that our country faces many socioeconomic challenges such as poverty and unemployment. Not even one of these problems can or will be solved by attacking fellow Africans who have joined us as migrants. Those who organise and participate in these attacks, which must stop, must know that there is absolutely nothing revolutionary, progressive, patriotic, acceptable or of service to the people in what are, in fact, criminal activities.”

Binta Nyako, justice of the federal high court, Abuja, has dismissed six of the 11 charges brought against Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), by the federal government.
The dismissed charges bordered on “ownership of unlawful society, illegal importation of radio transmitters and researching on how to make improvised explosive devices”.
Nyako said she took the decision to quash the six charges because the prosecutor did not present any evidence. However, she held that Kanu would be re-arraigned on a five count of treasonable felony.

A woman was yesterday found dead under a bridge in Umuahia, Abia State.

"The dead body of a lady has been discovered at the Ihie Bridge through Isi court Amakama in Umuahia south LGA. It was alleged that the lady may have been raped by some hoodlums and killed.
When contacted, the Abia state PPRO Ogbonnaya Geoffrey confirmed that police is aware of the development and that the Commissioner of Police Abia State CP Leye Oyebade is making effort to contact the authorities of community for the processes of removing the corpse.
According to the residents of the area, the body of the dead lady was discovered on Tuesday morning which signaled that the lady was killed on Monday night."
