Nigerian Stare At A self-driving car in Lagos

Nigerians express shock as they see a self-driving car in Lagos lailasnews 4
A self-driving car was spotted in Lagos this morning and Nigerians were so shocked to behold the sight of a car driving itself without the control of a driver.
Some of the people seen at the spot considered it as magic and some believed the car was being remote-controlled from somewhere. In the video that was already circulating on social media, a man cold be heard saying “Na spirit dey inside”, which literally meant the car was being driven by a spirit.
The car could be seen trailing other vehicles in a hold-up and residents and passers-by at that location trooped to its side trying to have a peep of what could be responsible for the motion of the car.
Watch the video below:
A Self-driving car may be new to Nigerians, but they have been around for a very long time, especially in developed countries. Although they are still on experimental stages, they are produced for commercial purposes yet.
Depending on which particular tech luminary you listen to, self-driving cars are somewhere between one and ten years away from reality. But one thing everyone agrees with is that they’re coming, and they’re going to fundamentally change transportation.

The outstanding questions are when fully autonomous cars are going to appear on our streets, and when they’ll be smart enough to entirely change how we own cars.
There are numerous advantages that could come with self-driving cars. Moving from a private-car industry to one where everyone shares a fleet of self-driving vehicles has tremendous implications for the cities we live in as well. Parking spaces can be removed, since there will be fewer cars on the street, and private vehicles could park themselves at out-of-town depots and only come in to the city when summoned. Intersections can be redesigned, and lanes taken out to widen sidewalks.

According to a friend of the deceased identified as Dewunmi Lagos, who took to Facebook to narrate the story, the deceased was being tortured by the Federal SARS officers at their office and he tied upside down. Kazeem was alleged to have died after the SARS officers untied him and he hit his head on the floor.

I know kazeem very well, he’s one of the most gentle soul I’ve known. He looks rough but he’s so gentle, when we were talking sometime back in 2014 about election he asked me for MTN recharge card and I said he is richer than I am then he dragged my pocket and took the money from me and from there we got talking.
I’ve met with him at Lagos garage in ijebu ode so many times and he is always hailing me.
He was robed and arrested by FSARS squad, he was tied upside down and was tortured badly to confess what he knew nothing about, when they untied him, on getting down his head was smashed on the floor and he died.
A letter has been forwarded to the secretary to the governor’s office (Ibikunle Amosun) and when he got the letter he said today in Ogun state Exco meeting will be for a short while because he wants to be present at the chief judge presiding over the matter today.
The chief judge requested the corpse be brought to the court today and all the officers who arrested him and those who tortured him.
We hope this will be a lesson to other security officers who think they can go Scotfree. Everyday for the thief and one day for the owner.

Indigenous rapper and YBNL boss, Olamide has laid his mother to rest in a very private ceremony last Thursday, April 5th, at the Ikoyi Cemetery. Being a very quiet and private one, the ceremony had only close family and friends in attendance.
The rapper who was very close to his mother when she was alive, also felt her presence when she had died, and as such, chose to keep the details of her death private. His mother, whose cause of death is still unknown to the public, died on 30th January, 2018. That day was coincidentally his son, Maximilliano’s, birthday.
It was gathered that the rapper’s mother, Ronke Osisanya Adedeji, reportedly died from an undisclosed illness. According to multiple sources close to the rapper, his mother “had been sick for some time” before she passed away.
Although our reporters could not ascertain if she died on Monday or Tuesday to be specific, a source said that “her illness grew worse in recent weeks, and that she was confined to a wheelchair before she died”.
Olamide’s late mother is the second wife of his father who is also deceased, and she is survived by three children; the rapper, an elder sister,  and DJ Enimoney. His father passed away in 2015.
Hours after celebrating the birthday of his son, Maximilliano on Instagram, he announced her passing with a black Instagram post and wrote,
“Orisa bi iya o si ”, which was transcribed to mean,
“There’s no idol like a mother,”  in English language.
Both Olamide and DJ Enimoney shared pitch black images on their respective Instagram pages that black day.
According to reports reaching us at lailasnews.com, pressmen were not allowed into the burial premises, as it was strict private and for family members and invited friends alone. May her soul find eternal rest in the bosom of the Lord.
